For businesses

Get investment-ready

Before a business meets investors on BomaFund, our team checks two things: that it is who it says it is, and that its figures hold up. Here is what we ask for, so you can have it ready.

Review 1 · Who you are

Your business, its owners and that it really operates.

  • Certificate of incorporation and a recent CR12
  • KRA PIN certificate and a tax compliance certificate
  • Any licence or permit your sector needs
  • An ID for every director, plus proof of address for each owner with 10% or more
  • Proof you operate: site photos or a lease, a utility bill, a bank letter, payroll or NSSF records
  • Two recent customer invoices

Review 2 · Your figures and your raise

Whether the money behaves the way the paperwork says, and whether the ask fits the plan.

  • Profit and loss for the last two years, and a recent balance sheet
  • 6 to 12 months of bank or M-Pesa statements
  • A list of every loan: lender, balance, repayments
  • Simple projections for 3 to 5 years, the assumptions behind them, and what happens if sales fall
  • How much you're raising, what for, and what it will achieve by when

Tips from our reviewers

  • Run your sales through one bank or M-Pesa till, so statements match what you report.
  • Keep business and personal money apart; it makes your figures easy to check.
  • If a document isn't available, say why. A reviewer can accept a clear explanation.
  • Raise what your plan needs. A raise far above your annual sales draws hard questions.

What investors see

Only verified investors see your listing. It shows your sector, your region and the figures our reviewers checked as ranges (for example sales of KES 10–25M), under a reference code instead of your name. Your name, county, town, exact figures, story and documents open only to an investor who signs your confidentiality terms. You can choose to show your county and exact figures earlier.

Listing is free for businesses. BomaFund doesn't value businesses, give investment advice, or hold or move money.
